This is what I do in my spare time at art school. The first is of my friends Natalie and Lois on a piano we found backstage. (done from memory) The next two are based off of songs "Fire Fire" and "Honeybee" by Steam Powered Giraffe.
And the last is a gif of the band, with the name of their upcoming album, "MK III", cleverly disguised in the design.
PS I taught myself how to make simple gifs and animations yay.
Remember that one time I started to draw the AP Art Class based on their concentrations?
It's still kinda rough,
But it was great character design practice.
"Smoke" What would this be, tradigital? Anyway, I finished up a drawing in elements today and here it is! No, I haven't taken up smoking. A secondary title was Pollution.A soothing moment in exchange for a choking world.
"Future" update. I sharpened it up a bit and made the brushstrokes less frantic. It's almost a different painting now. Maybe this is about how I looked at the future before and how I see it now. There is a kind of hope in the eyes that wasn't there before.
I've thought a lot about this painting recently. The figure in it was my then-boyfriend Austin. The clock-face represents the feeling that time passes too quickly. All of my anxiety about relationships and went into it. The bee represents anxiety about the future. And hope that it will be different.
"Dance of Death" charcoal and pencil. Mrs. Carson brought me to realize that setting something in a mouth is a recurring thing for me. It represents the frailty of whatever it is, in this case, the relationship between the man and the woman. It can be destroyed easily and violently in a second.
This piece is the result of a long-term vegetarian accompanying people to the grocery store and walking through the meat section. Those darn lobsters always draw me in. This takes my sympathy to the extreme and shows others what it's like.
I made this thing during a time where I was terribly sick.
At least I got to scan and edit this at home with a new legit version of Photoshop "Elements" that came with my drawing tablet. Elements is different, but at least all of the features work properly.
I've been doing a lot of watercolour lately and I like what I've been able to accomplish with it, but the similarity of this to my first one is bugging me a little.
Hopefully I'll be able to move elements of my concentration to different media for the next few.
So I bought myself a wacom bamboo drawing tablet this weekend and I'm just learning how to use it so THIS is part one in a story illustration thing I'm working on. I'm so excited I am going to do so much fan artbecoming a professional artist-type person!
